Terms of Service

Last Updated: 3/28/2026
I like to keep things simple and honest. This page is basically the “ground rules” for how I work and what you can expect when we partner up on a project. By using this site or hiring me, you’re saying you’re cool with everything below.

1. The Work

Every project is different. I’ll provide you with a specific proposal that lists exactly what I’m building for you (the “Scope”). If you decide you want extra stuff later—like more logo options or additional pages for your site—that’s totally fine! We’ll just chat about a new price for that extra work so there are no surprises.

2. The Money

To get the ball rolling, I require a [50%] non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due before I hand over the final files or launch your site. I accept payment via [Stripe, PayPal, or Bank Transfer]. If life happens and a payment is late, I’ll have to hit the pause button on the work until we’re caught up.

3. Ownership & Bragging Rights

Once the final bill is paid in full, the design is all yours! You own the rights to the final deliverables. However, I’m a designer—I need to show off my work to stay in business. I reserve the right to share the project in my portfolio and on social media unless we’ve signed a specific NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) ahead of time.

4. Revisions

I want you to love the final result. Most of my projects include [two] rounds of revisions. This is your chance to give me honest, “loud” feedback so we can get it perfect. If we go way beyond those rounds, I’ll let you know the hourly rate for the extra time before I keep going.

5. Content & Feedback

I’m the design expert, but you’re the expert on your business. I need you to provide any text, photos, or info I need in a timely manner. If the project stalls because I’m waiting on content for more than [30 days], we might have to close the project and start a new one later.

6. Accessibility Commitment

I build things to be used by everyone. While I follow high accessibility standards (like WCAG 2.1), the internet is always changing. I can’t guarantee 100% compliance forever, but I’ll always do my best to make sure your project is as inclusive as possible from day one.

7. Stopping the Project

If either of us feels like it’s just not a good fit, we can end the project with a [7-day] written notice. You’ll just be responsible for paying for the work I’ve completed up to that date.

8. The Legal “Safety Net”

I stand by my work, but I can’t be held liable for things like lost profits or business interruptions if your site goes down or something breaks. We’re partners in this, but the ultimate responsibility for your business stays with you.
